DAY 12: MY FAVORITE CHILDHOOD BOOK…
Hahahahaha! For those of you who know me, you know I don’t read. I’ve never enjoyed it. I never really read or was read to as a child. I suppose I could spout off some Dr. Seuss classic and call it a day, but instead I think I will talk about the first book that I viewed as a “page-turner”.
As you can tell by the title, this is anything but a children’s book. Remember a few posts back when I mentioned that I only read REALLY specific things…well, that mostly includes harrowing stories of rockstars and their drug use. Fun times! I’ve always been insanely fascinated by the lifestyles that these men and women live and am always astonished that they have lived to tell their stories. If you are into stories like this, I would 1000% recommend this book to you. It’s certainly not for the faint of heart, but it gives you a truly exhaustive look and what an addict is thinking when they are in the midst of their disease! The way that the book is laid out is quite interesting. I love that it includes pages from the diary that Nikki Sixx was keeping at the time all of this was taking place; it certainly shows a different perspective. Anyone can look back and tell you what they remember about an experience, but having those pages from the original diary put you right there with him!
What are your favorite books? Did you read a lot as a child? Let me know!
