DAY 16: MY THOUGHTS ON EDUCATION
If you had asked me this question 15 years ago I would have given you a very different answer than I am giving you right now. However, with 30 right around the corner I have come to understand that education is incredibly important. I have
spoken written previous blogs about my less than stellar academic performance while in high school, and have also written about how I redeemed myself when I finally got to college. No one pressured me to go to college (well, except Krissy, but it was in a loving way – thanks girl), they sort of let me come to the decision on my own and because of that I think I had a better overall experience. It was something I wanted needed to master to prove to myself that I was as capable as everyone (except me) knew that I was.
While I think that college was the right choice (eventually) for me, I don’t think it’s for everyone. I recognize that not everyone is cut out for sitting in a classroom with structured hours and assignments, and that’s fine; as long as you have a plan, I support you. With that being said; I hope that if I do have children that they would want to follow in my and my (future) husbands footsteps and choose to attend college. My boyfriend comes from a rich line of educators (he himself is one), and I believe it would be crazy to think that we would have a household that didn’t stress education/college to some degree. But like I said, if they have a plan, then I will support them. At the end of the day I want my children to be happy, healthy and love the Lord; if they accomplish those things, then everything else is just a bonus.
What are your thoughts on education? Did you go to college? Did you love it? Did you hate it? Let me know below!
