Happy Monday friends! I will admit, I’m a little bitter that I’m at work while most of my friends (and family) are sleeping in and getting ready for the holiday tomorrow; but I stopped by Chick-fil-A this morning, got a large sweet tea, and now I’m starting to feel much better about my situation (it’s amazing what a large cup of sugary goodness can do for you)!
As you can see, this is another Monday Motivation post! I really just wanted to address some things that I’ve been seeing and hearing from people that I follow as well as people that are in my personal (home) life. Life is hard and we could all use motivation from time to time! <3
Guys! I can’t stress how true and critical this statement is. Sometimes we get so caught up in what it means to be perfect & worthy that we end up associating the two. To be worthy, does not mean to be perfect. No one is perfect; I don’t care who they are. The people that we see on Instagram with the “perfect car” or the “perfect body” or the “perfect relationship” aren’t perfect at all; they are simply taking staged photos of things in their lives to share with their followers. Do you know how many pictures they have to take to get the “perfect” selfie…come on…we’ve all been there; it’s exhausting. I’ll take 20 pictures before I get the best one. So while the picture I end up posting is nicely lit, and has me at the perfect angle; that’s not what 99% of my life looks like, trust me, I’m typically a mess! Sometimes we (myself included) forget that these people we idolize are just humans; they get pimples, go to the grocery store in sweats, have bad hair days, get flat tires, and have a food baby after one too many rolls (it’s not just me, is it?!). It’s easy to think “if I get my life together, I’ll be worthy of love” or “he’ll like me more if I lose X number of pounds and look more like X”…but the truth is that we are all worthy of love just as we are, and if someone tries to tell you differently, don’t listen. I hope you all know how amazing you are and I hope that you never let anyone dictate how and when you will be loved. You may not always see your worth, but I certainly do and am here to remind you in those times of doubt! <3
Blogging is hard y’all. I know I’ve talked with some of you about the blogging/YouTube market being so saturated with talent that it sometimes feels impossible to break through; but I’m here to remind all of you to keep going! I’m not a big time blogger or anything; I have just under 200 subscribers (5 away..eeekkkkk) but I remember the day I decided to dedicate myself to this page and thinking how cool it would be if even 10 people read my posts. I never imagined that I would be sitting here today with a couple hundred people that want to regularly read my content; it really blows my mind. I say all that to say, keep going! I’m here, I’m reading your content and I enjoy watching everyone grow and get bigger & better! We are all unique and have so much to offer and share with the world; so keep writing, keep creating and keep your pretty head up; you’ll have thousands of followers before you know it!
