Happy Monday, friends and welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready to crush the week ahead. As for me, my weekend was pretty good; I did nothing but sit on the couch and watch 90 Day Fiance and Unexpected – shoutout to TLC (don’t judge me).
So if you’ve been around the blog a while, then you know I love all things makeup and beauty! Like most people, I’m always on the hunt for new affordable options, because let’s be honest, beauty products can get waaaay too expensive. Am I right?!
If you read last weeks favorites post (HERE), you know I’ve been trying (and loving) the new Covergirl TruBlend Undercover Concealer. After using it for a few weeks and forming a solid opinion, I thought it was time to share my thoughts with you guys!
This concealer claims to shape, contour and brighten! In addition, it is said to cover dark circles, bags, blemishes (
and all of your mistakes) with a lightweight finish. It has a large doe-foot applicator to ensure easy and even application, and features a velvety full-coverage finish that lasts all day! It comes in 30 shades that (apparently) match 99% of skin tones, making it easy to find your TRU match.
I’ve been using this concealer for about a month and I can confidently say that I think it’s a dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape. Before I get started with the review, I want to point out that I have normal to dry, sensitive skin, so keep that in mind!
This concealer has similar packaging to the Tarte Shape Tape; it features a large doe-foot applicator and has the standard .33 ounces of product in the component. In my opinion, it has medium to full coverage (definitely buildable) and lasts all day. I use the shades Porcelain (brightening) and Light Nude and feel that it creates a beautiful canvas on the skin. I will say, if you have dry skin, especially under the eyes, I recommend going in with a heavier moisturizer (or under-eye primer) to ensure that it blends out nicely and doesn’t feel overly dry/cakey. If you’ve ever used the Tarte Shape Tape concealer and have drier skin, you know it can feel a little crapey under the eyes if you’re not careful.
* Full Coverage.
* A little goes a long way.
* Comes in THIRTY shades. Yaaas!
* Creamy, Blendable with a Lightweight Finish!
* Can be drying if you’re not careful.
If you’re looking for an affordable, full-coverage concealer, give this bad boy a try! It comes in 30 shades, blends out like a dream and covers all of my mistakes and bad attitudes! I mean come on, what’s better than that?! Also, I hear that Cover Girl is going cruelty free…Yippie! <—– I hope that’s true. *fingers crossed*
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and are having a great start to your week!
