ABOUT THE BLOG
While Southern Lights, Atlanta Nights started out as “just a hobby,” I decided to get serious about things in February of 2017 and haven’t looked back since. I knew I wanted a space where I could create and talk freely about all things beauty, fashion, fitness and mental health. My hope is to cultivate meaningful relationships within the blogging community and to inspire all of you to be confident in yourselves while lifting up and supporting other women. I hope to teach you tips and tricks along the way that make your beauty routine easier to manage, while allowing your own personal taste to be on display!
Hey y’all! My name is Brittney! I’m a 30, almost 31 year old Georgia State graduate who is a customer care liaison by day and a blogger by night. I received my degree in Psychology and went on to complete a post-grad internship at a Mental Health facility in my area. I was prepped for the therapist life but upon completing my internship, I was unhappy and felt unsure. I decided to take a much less stressful job working in customer care and thought it would be the perfect time to start Southern Lights, Atlanta Nights. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved beauty and fashion. Maybe it’s from my days as competitive dancer, but whatever the reason, I’ve always loved playing around with makeup and keeping up with the latest fashion trends via Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire magazines.
While I’ve never had the opportunity to work in the beauty/fashion industry, as previously mentioned above, I have had the pleasure of working in mental health. I always thought my career would involve being a mental health advocate and in some ways, it still does. I think mental health is JUST as important as physical health and hope to encourage open and honest conversations while diminishing the stigma that comes along with that dialogue.
I hope you have a wonderful time perusing Southern Lights, Atlanta Nights and if you are interested in collaborations, saying hello or have general inquires, please do not hesitate to email me at email@example.com.
